Buyer Terms & Conditions

2ndMetal is operated through HIRZ General Trading Company in the UAE. The Platform facilitates the sale of off-cuts, cut sizes, project excess and secondary metal inventory from third-party sellers.

Listings may include material photographs, dimensions, grade/standard information, condition, theoretical weight, heat-number information and MTC availability supplied by sellers.

Buyers must provide accurate company, contact, billing, delivery and VAT information.

The Buyer is responsible for selecting material suitable for its design, code, service, fabrication process and end use.

2ndMetal does not act as the Buyer’s engineer, inspector or code authority.

All displayed commercial prices are exclusive of VAT unless clearly stated otherwise. Applicable VAT and separately chargeable services are added at checkout/quotation.

Delivery, cutting, testing, inspection, special packing, permits or unusual loading may be charged separately.

All listings are subject to prior sale and final availability confirmation.

Seller prices are normally held for three (3) calendar days. A displayed listing does not guarantee that the item remains available or that an expired price remains valid.

An order becomes confirmed only when 2ndMetal issues confirmation after availability/payment requirements are satisfied.

Where weight is calculated from dimensions and density, theoretical weight is used as the commercial basis unless the quotation/order expressly states otherwise.

Minor differences between theoretical and actual physical weight do not by themselves constitute a defect or claim where the dimensions/material supplied conform to the order.

Payment must be made using the payment methods accepted by 2ndMetal. 2ndMetal may delay release until funds are cleared and fraud/compliance checks are complete.

The Buyer must not make direct payment to an undisclosed seller or attempt to transact outside the Platform.

The Buyer normally pays delivery charges. 2ndMetal may arrange third-party transport based on location, weight, dimensions and vehicle requirements.

Delivery dates/times are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing. Site access, unloading facilities, permits and safe receipt arrangements are the Buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

Where buyer pickup is permitted, pickup will be from a location designated by 2ndMetal; the Buyer has no right to demand collection directly from the underlying seller.

Cutting is performed only against the final dimensions/instructions confirmed by the Buyer.

Once custom cutting or processing has started, the order cannot be cancelled for convenience.

If the Buyer provides incorrect dimensions, drawings or instructions, resulting costs are for the Buyer. If the approved processor materially deviates from the confirmed instruction, the claim policy applies.

The Buyer should inspect quantity, visible condition, dimensions and obvious discrepancies promptly on receipt and preserve packaging, markings, photographs and delivery records if a claim may arise.

Claims must be raised within the periods stated in the Return & Claim Policy.

MTCs, heat numbers and traceability information are made available based on seller records and representations.

Unless expressly sold with independent inspection/testing, 2ndMetal does not independently certify chemical/mechanical properties or authenticity.

For pressure-retaining, safety-critical, regulated or code-controlled applications, the Buyer must perform whatever independent verification, PMI, testing or third-party inspection its project/specification requires.

Off-cuts, project excess, secondary materials and custom-cut products are not ordinary retail goods and are generally non-returnable for change of mind or changed project requirements.

Returns/credits are considered only under the published Return & Claim Policy, including material discrepancies attributable to the Seller/processor.

The Buyer must not use information, documents, packaging, transport interactions or other means to identify and directly transact with an underlying seller introduced through 2ndMetal.

This restriction applies during the Buyer’s use of 2ndMetal and for twenty-four (24) months after the most recent introduction or transaction involving that seller, subject to applicable law.

2ndMetal may suspend accounts and seek recovery of the margin/fees reasonably lost from bypassed transactions and other lawful remedies.

Buyers may not misuse the Platform, scrape confidential inventory data at scale, impersonate others, upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, manipulate pricing, commit payment fraud or use the Platform unlawfully.

2ndMetal is a commercial intermediary and marketplace operator. The underlying seller remains responsible for title and the accuracy of seller-supplied material descriptions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 2ndMetal excludes liability for indirect/consequential loss, production loss, project delay or lost profit arising from use of the Platform, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

These Terms are intended to be governed by UAE law, with Dubai courts having jurisdiction unless mandatory law or the final published terms require otherwise.
