MTC & Traceability Disclaimer
Material Test Certificates, Heat Numbers and Technical Verification
Operator: HIRZ General Trading Company, UAE
1. Purpose
This disclaimer explains how 2ndMetal presents MTCs, heat numbers, markings and traceability for listed metal inventory.
2. Seller-Supplied Information
Material Test Certificates (MTCs), heat numbers, mill details, standards, grades, markings and photographs are generally supplied by the underlying Seller.
Where a listing states “MTC Available”, “Heat Number Available” or similar, this means the Seller has represented that such information/documentation is available for the listed material.
3. No Independent Certification by Default
Unless an order expressly includes independent inspection, PMI, laboratory testing or third-party verification, 2ndMetal does not independently certify the authenticity, completeness or technical accuracy of an MTC or confirm that a particular document corresponds to a particular physical piece.
Displaying an MTC or marking does not constitute an engineering approval or warranty by 2ndMetal.
4. Traceability Risk for Off-Cuts
Cutting and fabrication can separate an off-cut from original mill markings. A Seller may rely on its internal records, transferred markings, heat-number mapping or other traceability controls.
Buyers requiring continuous/full traceability must verify that the available evidence meets their project, client, code and regulatory requirements before purchase/use.
5. Critical Applications
For pressure vessels, pressure piping, oil & gas, sour service, structural safety-critical work, nuclear, aerospace, medical, food-contact or other regulated/critical applications, the Buyer must determine applicable code/specification requirements and obtain any PMI, testing, witnessing, re-certification or third-party inspection required.
2ndMetal may facilitate such services for an additional charge where available, but acceptance criteria remain the Buyer’s responsibility.
6. Material Condition and Marking
Photographs and visible markings should be reviewed together with the confirmed order. Surface condition, transferred markings or partial markings do not by themselves establish full traceability.
Any suspected mismatch between physical markings and documentation must be reported before fabrication or use.
7. Seller Responsibility
Sellers are required to provide MTC/traceability information honestly and must not knowingly associate a certificate with unrelated material. False or misleading documentation may result in suspension, withholding of settlement, claims and other remedies.
8. Buyer Acceptance
By purchasing material where certification/traceability matters, the Buyer acknowledges that it has reviewed the available documentation and determined whether additional verification is required for its intended use.
