METALS · SUPER DUPLEX
Super duplex is the top tier of the duplex family — grades 2507 (UNS S32750) and S32760 with a pitting resistance number (PREN) of 40 or more, built for raw seawater and sour hydrocarbon service. Surplus pieces from UAE offshore and desalination projects appear here with their certificates.

Where standard duplex handles chlorides, super duplex handles the worst of them: hot seawater, firewater systems, injection lines, sour wells. Yield strength sits around 550 MPa — comfortably above both 316L and 2205 — so sections get thinner again.
Almost nobody stocks super duplex in small quantities; it is ordered per project, and the surplus that projects leave behind is often the only way to get a certified piece quickly in the region. Traceability is non-negotiable at this level: buy against the MTC badge and match heat numbers on arrival.
Common grades in this family: 2507 · UNS S32750 · UNS S32760
More chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen, pushing the pitting resistance number past 40 — the threshold generally accepted for raw seawater. Strength rises with it.
Treat it as mandatory. Material at this specification is bought for critical service; the EN 10204 3.1/3.2 certificate with matching heat numbers is what makes the piece usable on a certified job.
Offshore and desalination packages order against contingency, and cancelled or descoped lines leave certified material unused. It reaches this marketplace directly from those project stores.
